CE Credits are NBCC approved and meet the professional development requirements of Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council.
Certificate Information:
Requirements: 50 hours of Trauma Care Institute Trainings are required to be completed as part of the certificate program. This can be completed through any combination of LIVE Webinars Via Zoom, Pre-recorded Webinars, and In person trainings hosted by Trauma Support Services' Trauma Care Institute. Up to 12 hours of training done through other organizations can count toward the certificate completion but must be an approved topic (see below).
Certificate Timeline: All trainings (including those submitted through other organizations) must be completed between October 1, 2022 to August 31, 2023 to count toward the certificate.

This training certificate focuses on trauma-informed work with female survivors of violence and crime, their families, and the resiliency of survivors as well as that of service providers. This program seeks to inform and assist mental health professionals, law enforcement personnel, lawyers, advocates, and other criminal justice and victim service providers navigating their work with survivors through a trauma-informed, diverse, and empathic lens.
Covered Topics:
All training hours applied to your Certificate must have a basis in the effects of trauma and performing trauma informed care. Any hours submitted from outside organizations will be reviewed prior to approval and should fall within the focus of the following topics.
- Foundations of Trauma Informed Care
- Sexual Assault
- Vicarious Trauma
- Resiliency and Self-Care
- Human Trafficking of Adults
- Cultural Competency
- IPV in Minority Populations
- Dating and IPV in LGBTQIA+ Communities
- Violence Against Trans Women
- Effects of Violence Against Women on Children and Families
- Effects of the Pandemic on Similar Subject Matter
- Other Related Violent Crime Topics
