In this webinar we will explore the reason behind considering ethics and professional values when working with victims/survivors of intimate partner violence. We will also explore solution focused approaches to intervention and how they align with core values and ethics. Participants will work with real life scenarios and apply these concepts to ethical decision-making.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the rationale for codes of ethics and values statements
  • Recognize the key components of a Solution Focused approach to helping
  • Apply Solution Focused Approaches to Ethical Decision Making and intervention with clients experiencing Intimate Partner Violence or other trauma.

If you register for this training, you must attend for the entire training.

About Our Speaker:

Derrelynn Perryman, MSSW, LCSW-S, is a Clinical Social Worker in private practice working with trauma survivors and first responders. She is also a long-time victim advocate who has worked in law enforcement, prosecution, corrections, and non-profit agencies with survivors of trauma. She is adjunct faculty at UT Arlington and Texas Christian University, a licensed TCOLE instructor and Approved CISM instructor. She is a former President of the Texas Victim Services Association. In 2015 the Governor appointed her to the Texas Board of Criminal Justice where she is now serving a second term and is Vice Chair.
